The Cosmic Ledger

Cosmic Ledger

The Cosmic Ledger

The Universe is a very balanced place operating with very strict laws that allow us to know exactly how things will react at any given time. We can even know where planets and stars will be placed in the heavens hundreds of years in advance.

What does this have to do with ledgers you might ask? Well along with these rules comes energy. We all know that energy as such cannot be destroyed it moves from one type to another, constantly affecting and influencing other atoms in its wake.

Everything uses or contains energy. Even your thoughts and actions. As I’ve written before if you leave things undone this can cause you to leak energy which can result in you experiencing a multitude of negative emotions. This can in turn lead on to resulting in creating blockages in your life, whether emotional, spiritual of physical.

For example if you hold onto your money and don’t pay your bills as soon a they come in because you feel like you don’t have enough money to pay them, what are your telling your unconscious mind? You’re telling it that you don’t have money.

The prime directive of the unconscious mind is to provide for all of our needs and desires, these are defined by our thoughts. The unconscious mind is also quite lazy, think of it like a seven year old child. It will do the easiest thing possible to create the world about which you are thinking, so if its instructions are I don’t have enough money to pay these bills yet then guess what? You won’t have!

There are a couple of other factors to consider here too. If you hold on tight to your money, this can cause lots of other problems, one of which is blockages in your life. These can be financial blockages or emotional ones. You can feel stressed or guilty when spending money on yourself which you have earned yourself so there should not be guilt there. The emotions you are feeling are totally inappropriate to the situation.

It can also cause relationship problems as you can transmute this control of finances into other area of you life and end up being very controlling in your relationships which blocks the flow of feelings between two people and can often cause deep seated resentments to establish themselves which can be very unhealthy for both parties.

Also by holding on tight to your money you are are
stopping the natural flow of wealth from occurring. Think of it like stopping up a river with a dam. The natural cycle of flowing in and out can no longer happen so your very fear of lack of money actuated into reality. Also you will often end up with a huge pile of outstanding bills which can seem totally insurmountable in one lump as opposed to having paid they slowly one by one as they appeared.

Also By paying your bills as they come in you are saying to your unconscious mind that you have plenty of money to cover these and so you will find that money and wealth will flow into your accounts too. You will banish the worries of lack of funds and the feelings of guilt that can way you down when you are focusing your attention on things left undone.

Now all of the above is not to be confused with really not having any money, and I’m certainly not advocating getting yourself into debt. This is more about the illusion of lack rather than a reality.

Those of you reading this article who are experiencing a physical lack may be interested in reading my later blog discussing ways of changing this current situation which you find yourself in for the better.

Taxing Times – The times in your business that cause you to be taxed.

Taxing times

The word tax can mean either ‘a sum of money demanded by a government…’ or ‘a burdensome charge, obligation, duty or demand’.

We all understand the first meaning when thinking about our business but do we often think about the second one?

Do you ever think about what causes you to feel ‘taxed’ by your business? In what way can your business be taxing you, and what payment does it expect from you?

The main way that a business will tax its owner will be in time, whether it is physical time that you have to spend working on it or in it, or emotional time, either by time worrying about things or problems that surface in the day to day life of running a business.

Is your business running perfectly all of the time without making any demands on you at all? If so you are a very rare case. Most of us need to exert some time and effort in our business in order to be able to reap the rewards that we set the business up for in the first place – be it money or lifestyle.

But what happens when our businesses become ‘burdensome’ to us? What do we do and to whom can we turn for help and advice?

Many of the things that are burdensome to us can be outsourced to others who are more qualified to do them, and as such can do them much quicker and more accurately than we can ourselves, so in fact it actually saves us money by outsourcing these things as the time saved by ourselves can spent doing what we do best and actually enjoy.

Make a list of all of the jobs that you do in your business and see which ones can be outsourced, for example: bookkeeping, telephone answering, keeping the database up to date, writing and sending newsletters, chasing up debts. All of these can be easily outsourced to a third party.

Planning how you use your time can have a dramatic effect on your productivity and thereby also your stress levels. Don’t try to do lots of things at once as it results in lack of focus and concentration. If you work on one thing at a time you will feel much more satisfied as you can tick each thing off your to do list as you complete it. This will help you to feel as though you have achieved more during the day too.

Make sure that you write a to do list each evening before you leave work, this means that when you get into the office the next day you know exactly what you’ll be working on, which will save you lots of time.

Turn off your email announcements to avoid being distracted. Agree with yourself how often and at what time of day you will check your emails. You do not have to reply instantly, it can give a false impression of your business, for example that you are not a high quality, in demand business if you can answer your emails instantly.

Write a list of rewards that you will earn for reaching certain milestones or achieving things in your business that are important to you and make sure that you take the rewards when you achieve your goals.

Take some time out to think about what it is that you want to achieve and where your business is going, write these down and keep them in a prominent place. A business without goals is like a ship without a captain, it will just wander aimlessly.

Finally ask for help if you need it. We are always happy to speak to people who want to succeed.

By the way, in case you are wondering about the picture – the horticulturally minded amongst you might recognise a picture of a Yew tree whose Latin name is Taxus!!

How to Karmically balance the books.

Karmically Balancing Books

Therapists and healers work with energy, this is a given fact. However, everyone is affected by the same ‘energy’ whether they are aware of it or not to the following applies to everyone equally.  I’m sure that you love your ‘job’ and are very good at it.  However, your ‘job’ also involves aspects that perhaps you are not so keen on, for example administration, selling, accounts to name but a few.

I’d just like to take a few minutes of your time to explain why it is so important to deal with one of these less interesting aspects of your business and how you can reap the rewards by so doing.

I’m sure that you are already aware to a certain extent that your energy can be leeched away, we’ve all met people who tend to sap our energy if we are not careful around them, our kids can also be very good at this too, or is that just money!!!

However, things left undone can also have the same effect, you know that nagging feeling that you get when it’s time to do your tax return for example and those adverts with Moira Stewart popping out from under the stairs seem to be on the TV every time you switch on.

Well, that sinking feeling that you get is part of your energy leaking away from you.

You also know that great feeling, almost of smugness you get when you have accomplished the dreaded task – what a great feeling and energy boost that is, I’m sure you’ll agree.

So instead of leaving everything to the last minute, try and spend a small amount of  time each month to get your paperwork together so that when your financial year has finished you can quickly do your tax return or pass the paperwork on to someone else to do it for you.

Weigh up how long it takes you to do your accounts and tax return and whether you could earn more money in that time than in would cost you for someone else to do it for you.  This would give you peace of mind and stop up that energy leak!

Also, the quicker you get your tax return in after the end of the financial year the less likely you are to over pay tax, which lets face it, none of us want to do.

How we have helped one client..

One of our clients was recommended to me and I inherited them with a very untidy accounting history.  Their previous bookkeeper and accountant never asked them any questions about their accounts and hence their records were incomplete and inaccurate.

It took us a little while to get everything straight but now their accounts are represented accurately and their business is also now showing that they have made a profit as previously many assets had been entered into the profit and loss side of their accounts.

This has enabled our client to obtain funding to further grow their business.  Our client was so impressed with our service that they have asked us to undertake all of their credit control, thus ensuring a much healthier cash flow and also make all of their bank payments to supplier for them, saving them time and ensuring that their company is never put on stop with their suppliers which used to cause them problems when they needed to obtain goods and services in a hurry.

For this client in particular, the time that we have saved them in fire fighting, coupled with the more efficient running of the accounting side of their business has helped them tremendously and freed them up to be able to concentrate on working on their business rather than drowning in it.

What our clients say…

“We recently changed accountants, and when they learned that our bookkeeping was all done by Wolf Consultancy they were very happy.

We love their intensive approach to the work and they are always on call to give you that vital answer at an unsocial hour.  They really do have our backs covered!

We trust Sue and her team completely.  They take a highly diligent approach and we never hear about issues until they have been resolved.  This peace of mind is worth every penny and we consider Wolf Consultancy an extension to our in house team.”

Tip of the week

If you are one of those people who spend a lot of time in your car driving from client to client or are just naturally a bit disorganised and spend time searching for bank statements or other important documents whenever you do your accounts or get them ready for your accountant or bookkeeper, then a good tip is to keep a plastic tub in your car and whenever you get a receipt put it in the tub. Remember to empty your purse or wallet receipts into this tub every week.
This way all receipts are together when you need them, you can also have a larger box in your office or at home that you always put your post into when it arrives.

Simple practices like this will save you time and greatly reduce your stress levels!

Our services include :

  • bookkeeping
  • business plans
  • management accounts
  • credit control
  • employment law
  • self assessment
  • VAT returns and much more…..

We provide support services so you can focus on your business.

Credit Control Advice from Wolf Consultancy

Here are my tips on Getting Paid by your customers:

  • when you make the call ensure you are in the right frame of mind.
  • Be happy and positive and this will be reflected in your voice.
  • Ask your client if they were happy with the job, if not solve the problem immediately.
  • If the answer is “yes” remind them that the invoice is overdue, that this must be an oversight on their part and would they like to make a payment now by card or bacs.

Getting paid by your customers
This can be one of the most frustrating aspects of running a small business. You do a fantastic job and they take ages to pay you.  Sound familiar?
All small business owners face common issues when chasing money:

  • its personal causing feelings of resentment
  • you become loathe to spoil your relationship with the customer
  • you spend too much time chasing money, worrying about your bank balance and paying your suppliers
  • you don’t spend enough time focussing on developing your business

Still having problems getting the money in?

If chasing money is still a time consuming problem consider outsourcing your credit control.

What makes us different:
At the moment we are in the process of assisting one of our long term clients, who has recently had a baby, to sell her business.
We have met with the potential buyer and answered all of their questions and also advised them of potential new marketing and sales opportunities should they decide to go ahead with the purchase, to ensure its continued success and growth.
We have discussed the benefits of buying an established business with a proven track record, as opposed to setting up a new business from scratch and have given them all of the financial information that they need to discuss how to take things further.
Our client is secure in the knowledge that we will do our very best to get the sale finalised at the right price, so that she can get on with the important task of spending time with her new baby.
